How To Make Sure My Inventive Idea Does Not Get Stolen In The Process Of Filing For Patent?

I am advised to contact the patent office and hire a patent attorney to file for a patent. It seems that I should file patent online at U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (http://www.uspto.gov/).
How can I trust that nobody will steal my patent info online? How can I trust that the attorney would not share the info with other parties?
