Does a custody lawyer have to decide for the couple who is going to get the belongings and the house or do they just work with who gets the children ?

As a general rule, a family law attorney works with their client as well as the other party and that party’s lawyer to divide assets like the house and personal property, which one of the two parties will responsible for which debts as well as determining the appropriate party to be custodial or primary parent. Rather like a package deal.
